Just a minor development in my life...

It's no big deal, it's just that...

I'M GETTING MARRIED!

Please, feel free to rejoice.  I’m just as amazed as you.

The condensed version of a few important events:

The Proposal:
I came home after school and work expecting to scrounge some dinner and cram in a bit of homework.  Adam had a change of plans for me: a huge map and a letter with instructions.

On the map he had labeled all the places that held significance to us like “First Kiss” and “Where you learned to drive a stick” etc. The instructions said to get dressed up and follow the highlighted route. So I did that and found him at a lookout out spot in the mountains.  He turned on the car stereo that had a CD in it and we dance. Adam got down on a knee and asked me a question.

I took the ring box and inspected that the goods were real and then responded favorably.

We went to dinner and spent the rest of the evening in Salt Lake (mainly to be out of Provo.)  When we got home I went straight to bed and he woke up his apartment.  The next morning when I stopped by his apartment I was congratulated by many a groggy, annoyed but enthusiastic roommate.

How We Met:
How he met me—we met in passing sometime during the summer and I caught his eye.
How I met him—He burst into my apartment about a month later and asked me out and then took off.  I spent the afternoon trying to figure out who he was.

The Plan:
We’re getting married in May in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, UT.

Insomniac Lullaby

November 8th, 2010... Doomsday part 1
That was the day my application to the BYU Media Arts major was due.  The buildup involved a lot of anxiety insanity and sleepless nights.  The trick was to channel all that into something creative. Below is the film sample I submitted with my application, an amateur short film I call, "Insomniac Lullaby."

December 17th, 2010... Doomsday part 2
The last day of finals but also....the day I was to find out if I had a major or if I needed to start looking up Renaissance Fairs to join.
After the longest day of insanity, some minor melt downs, a much needed Coca-Cola, some bribing of Media Arts insiders.... and... I'M IN! WOOT. I Tricia, am a FILM MAJOR.  :)

"The Worst Person in the World"

Ellen Sirot, the hand supermodel.
I don't know whether to love her or hate her.  I therefore remain in ambivalent amusement.  Maybe it's enough to know that perhaps we are someone else's' obnoxious hand model.

I will cuuut you.

This Halloween Bon Qui Qui was the winner. Enjoy.

Succinctly put...

5'3''
"Fun-sized" to be politically correct. I've always been a short person so I don't know why the fact keeps coming to me in profound moments of surprise.

I chose to blame these two:
My brothers, Jason (19) and Kevin (14), both comin' close to 6'
By rights, being one of the older kids in the house is near synonymous with "the biggest thing around." Then suddenly something happened and it leaves me wondering, who told these two they could get so big?

Don't get me wrong, I am secure in my shortness.  There are plenty of kind, strange tall-guys out there that will get that pineapple soda from the top shelf  for me, if I decide to go punk and spike my hair I will still clear doorways, and as a much wiser and similarly fun-sized cousin once said, it is really hard to find a boy shorter than you. ;)
